PowerCURE™ Induction Curing System

To «fight» the worlds rising energy costs and C02 & NOx outputs, Can Man «re-invented» the induction curing.

Induction heating

The seam (not the whole canbody) is heated up directly by electromagnetism to dry the coating from the inside out. That means very short heating up time (no preheating is needed) and lowest heat losses in the surrounding area and much faster cooling down! Heating metal with the friction of its own electrones means also practically zero energy loss through reflection or radiation.

 

Fast heating up

Due to the fast heat up of the blank surface and the drying from inside out, the powder quickly “sticks” to the can (less bloating and no drop off). Drying applies also to inside- and outside strips equally in degree and time.

 

Energy consumption

A PowerCURE™ induction oven have 80% over all energy savings compared to common gas systems at the same rated load. Guiding canbodys from the top ensures a distance of 3 - 6 mm between coil and curing area for lowest energy consumption and stable quality. PowerCURE™ does not need more electrical power than a gas-oven, due to the fact that the much shorter conveying of the cans needs less energy for motordrives and suction(blower)-devices. PowerCURE™ only consumes energy when cans are produced > it stops automatically (incl. the conveyors!) when no cans pass.

 

Saving of gas

All gas related costs can be saved! The gas itself, it’s transport, storage and checks + maintenance work.

 

Saving of space

Space requirement is between 3 to 9 meters straight. U – shape ovens belong to the past. And, the “can - cooling” conveyors can be shortened by more than 50% because of the small heated area that cools down much more faster than a complete heated can body. That means 70% space saving compared to common gas systems at the same rated load.

 

Easiest installation

PowerCURE™ is a “plug & work” - unit and comes as a “all in one” - system. PowerCURE™ is installed within hours, not days.

 

Format changeovers

A canformat changeover requires only 1 setting which take only 1 minute.

 

3 normed speed ranges

PowerCURE™ comes in 3 models for up to 45, 70 and 90 m/min welding speeds, matching the entire range of 99% of the welding lines in the world.

 

Compatibility

PowerCURE™ is compatible to all types of welders; It can also be used as pre-heater for speed upgrades. An “upsidedown” - version is available for VEAW’s and SBW’s.

 

Protected “burners”

If a jam happens in the downline, the canbodies can fall down to the floor and neither the coil nor the belts are damaged!

 

Noise emission

Low noise level due to smooth canflow and use of timing belt instead of steel belts or chains!

Maintenance

PowerCURE™ is practically maintenance free! Optionale “Protection plan” available for prolonged warranty.
