The machines of the series CM 21 are the world's first semiautomatic welding machines with the ability to produce WIMA - welds without any calibration crown!
A special device (patent pending) clamps the rolled body throughout its complete welding lengths and guarantees a constant overlap. The WIMA - seam looks better, removes all the flanging and seaming problems and allows even a powder or lacquer coating.
Cutting Tolerances
Since this newly invented WIMA - handling system is based on a clamping device, even irregularly cutted blanks, such as out of square or to long and to short can't create any overlapping problem (except "bow cuts").
Change over time
As well known in the can making world, the greatest advantage of a semi-auto-welder is its great flexibility even for smallest can orders. This is also valid for the CM 21. Diameter change require no changeover time and canbody height changes can be done in less than a minute.
Copper wire savings
In order to strengthen the copper wire, we have introduced a new and strong driven wire profiling. This allows you to run the machine with a copper wire of only 1,38 mm instead of the 1,5 mm wire, which is a reduction of copper wire cost up to 30%.
Electrical power saving
Due to the consequently ongoing research for the optimal welding arm configuration for each individual welding purposes, the CM 21 also uses the Can Man "sandwich-concept" of having only the z-bar between the 2 power conductors. Electrical power savings of up to 30% can be achieved. Using our new static inverter current controller "pacemaker" savings of up to 80% are realistic. Such power reductions result direct in lower operation costs.
Variable welding speed
Like in all modern automatic can body welders is a CM21 standard. As variator gear boxes belong to the past, the CM21's welding speed is controlled by a frequency drive, therefore maintenance free and easy to adjust directly on the operators panel.
Compactness
This semi-auto is the smallest welder ever built. With a floor size of only 1 x 1 meter it was never as easy to move this machine from one place to another. With the optional available cooling unit and the 2 plugs (electric and air) you can move it easily wherever you want it in no time (theoretically even on a truck beside the tomato field).
PowerROLL™
Can Man's mercury free welding rolls are available also for this machine. In this case a cooling unit is required as the mercury free welding roll system needs a combination of cooling and lubrication.
Spare part costs
The costs for keeping this machine running is close to zero for years as the upper rollherad is a so called «long life - rollerhead» due to its enlarged contact and cooling area.
